THE MARKET IS STRONGER AND FRUIT IS TIGHT (ESPECIALLY AVOCADOS)!
MEXICO
- Mexico’s volume is dropping daily
- Additionally, there’s been rain in the growing region that is hampering the harvest
- There will be no relief until we get into the summer crop, which is said to have very good volume
CALIFORNIA
- Harvest volume is peaking as we speak, but that volume is a drop in the bucket
- The season is expected to be mostly over early August
- Weather in the growing region has been mild so far, but warming up this weekend
- Keeping our fingers crossed that we don’t experience the heat and wind we did last year
PERU
- Received their first containers in NJ this week and will start receiving fruit mid-month in Savannah
- Fruit is heaving to 48/40s but we have a large amount of 32/36s
Organics are mostly impossible to come up with
In the big picture, the market is expected to continue to be strong until we have enough volume to satisfy the demand
