- Market Update
Mexico's ongoing drought is unfortunately creating a prolonged negative effect on lime supply. 70% of current lime harvests are being discarded due to thirsty lime trees not having access to much-needed rain resulting in stressed lime trees and damaged and/or brown limes. Additionally, only 3% of all lime growers have back-up water wells in cases of hardship like this, but those wells are now dried up completely. Currently, no large fruit is available and the 110counts, 150s, 175s, and even the 200s will begin to dwindle in supply over the coming weeks. Prolonged scarcity of lime supply means the U.S. is challenged with ever-increasing prices from Mexico.
